Call for Posters and Demos
21st International Conference on Virtual Reality Continuum and its Applications
(ACM SIGGRAPH VRCAI 2026)
VRCAI 2026 invites submissions of original Posters and Demos that showcase innovative research, technical prototypes, practical applications, and art-technology integrated creations at the intersection of the Virtual Reality Continuum (VRC) and related fields. As a complement to the conference's paper track, the Poster & Demo session serves as a dynamic platform for interactive presentation, in-depth discussion, and visual demonstration of cutting-edge work in VR, AR, MR, AV, XR, Virtual Storytelling, Virtual Production and beyond.
Notably, outstanding submissions with high artistic value (while retaining close integration with VR/AR core technologies, no pure artistic works accepted) will be selected for a special VR/AR Art Exhibition segment at VRCAI 2026, offering a dedicated space for immersive artistic display and academic-arts exchange. All accepted Posters and Demos will be featured in the on-site exhibition area of the conference, with creators having the opportunity to present their work to international academia, industry professionals, and art and technology practitioners.
Since its inception in 1993, VRCAI has evolved into a globally renowned conference with a strong industry-academia integration focus. The Poster & Demo track aligns with the conference's mission to foster the development of the VRC ecosystem, highlighting the latest advancements in digital innovation that bridges the physical and virtual worlds. This track welcomes diverse submissions that balance technical rigor, practical applicability, and creative expression, and encourages cross-disciplinary collaborations between technology and art.
Submission Scope
Submissions must align with the core themes of VRCAI 2026: VRC Fundamental and Related Technology in Computer Graphics, VRC Systems, Interactions, Virtual Storytelling, Virtual Production and Industry Applications in the VRC. Submission Guidelines
1. Originality Requirement
All submissions must be original and unpublished work. No work that has been presented or published at other conferences, exhibitions or events will be accepted.
2. VR/AR Core Integration
All artistic submissions must be closely integrated with VR/AR/MR/XR core technologies; pure artistic works without technical integration will not be considered for review.
3. Submission Platform
All Poster and Demo submissions must be made via the EasyChair conference system (the same platform for paper submissions).
4. Submission Materials
Posters: Submit a brief abstract (500 words max) outlining the work's core content, technical/artistic innovation, and key results; a high-resolution preview of the poster design (A0 size recommended, portrait/landscape optional, in PDF format); for art-oriented posters, an additional art creation statement (300 words max) explaining the artistic concept and VR/AR technology integration is required.
Demos: Submit a project proposal (800 words max) including technical/artistic details, implementation methods, and on-site demonstration requirements; a short video demo (3-5 mins max, MP4 format, 1080P) showing the work's core functions/expressions; for art-oriented demos, an additional art creation statement (300 words max) is required; a detailed list of hardware/software requirements for on-site demonstration (the conference will provide basic power and display support, special equipment to be prepared by the submitter).
5. Double-Blind Review
The review process follows a double-blind policy; all submission materials must remove any author/institution information (name, affiliation, email, logo, etc.). Author information can be added to the final version upon acceptance.
6. Format Requirement
All documents (abstracts, creation statements, proposals) must be in English; all visual materials (poster previews, video demos) must include English subtitles/annotations where necessary.
7. Multiple Submissions
Co-authored works and multiple submissions from the same author/institution are allowed, but each submission must be an independent work and follow the above guidelines.
Review and Exhibition
Review Committee
Submissions will be reviewed by the VRCAI 2026 Program Chairs and an invited panel of experts from academia, industry, and art-technology fields.
Review Criteria
Reviews will be based on VR/AR technology integration, innovation (technical/artistic), practicality/appeal, presentation quality, and fit with the conference theme. For art-oriented submissions, artistic expression and creative value will be an additional key evaluation criterion for the Art Exhibition selection.
On-Site Display & Art Exhibition
All accepted Posters will be displayed in the dedicated conference poster area for the entire duration of VRCAI 2026; authors are expected to be present for on-site explanation and discussion during the designated poster session.
All accepted Demos will be showcased in the interactive demo area with on-site operation and demonstration by the creators.
Outstanding art-oriented submissions selected for the VR/AR Art Exhibition will be featured in a dedicated exhibition zone with enhanced display space and technical support to highlight their artistic and technical integration; the exhibition will be open to all conference attendees and invited art and technology professionals.
Recognition
All accepted Poster & Demo creators will receive a formal acceptance certificate; outstanding works (including Art Exhibition selections) will be highlighted on the VRCAI 2026 official website and in the conference proceedings supplement.
