Call for Workshop Proposals

The International Conference on Virtual Reality Continuum and its Applications (VRCAI 2026) is a premier event in the rapidly evolving fields of virtual reality, augmented reality, and their applications. It will be held in Hangzhou, China, in November 2026.

The conference will cover all topics in the areas of computing, interaction, and visualization related to the Virtual Reality Continuum, and will feature keynote talks, technical symposia, distinguished lectures, and workshops.

The theme for VRCAI 2026 highlights the application of AI-driven contextual understanding in creating seamless and sustainable immersive experiences.

We invite proposals for workshops to be held in conjunction with VRCAI 2026. Workshops provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss novel ideas, emerging trends, and cutting-edge applications in a more focused and interactive setting.

Submission Instruction

The conference solicits half-day or full-day workshop proposals on new and emerging topics in the areas of Virtual Reality Continuum and its Applications. A workshop should focus on a specific theme of current interest that can attract high-quality submissions. A proposal should include the following information:

  1. Title of the workshop
Provide a clear and descriptive title that reflects the workshop's focus area within the Virtual Reality Continuum.
  2. Abstract (250 words)
Include a concise summary explaining the workshop's objectives, key topics, and target audience. This abstract will be used for promotional purposes.
  3. Significance and timeliness
Explain the workshop's relevance to current trends and emerging challenges in VR/AR/MR and why this topic is important for the VRCAI community now.
  4. Workshop content
Detail the specific topics and themes that the workshop will focus on, indicating the scope and technical depth you plan to cover.
  5. Full contact and a short bio of the workshop organizers
Include names, affiliations, email addresses, and brief biographies (100-150 words each) for all organizers, highlighting their expertise relevant to the workshop topic.
  6. Planned format for the workshop
Each workshop session is scheduled for 1 hour. We encourage a mix of short lectures, hands-on activities, and group discussions. Proposals should clearly outline how the time will be distributed (e.g., 20-minute presentation followed by a 40-minute collaborative task).
  7. A tentative list of TPC members
Provide a preliminary list of Technical Program Committee members with their affiliations (if already confirmed).
  8. A draft of Call for Papers
Include a ready-to-publish version of your Call for Papers, containing key dates, submission guidelines, and topics for prospective authors.
  9. History of the workshop (if applicable)
If this workshop has been held previously, provide details including past venues, attendance statistics, and outcomes.

Core Themes of Interest

While we welcome all topics related to the VR Continuum, we are particularly interested in workshops that explore:

  • AI & Intelligent Content: Generative AI for 3D web, Neural Rendering, and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS).
  • Web3D & Immersive Web: Lightweight modeling, mesh streaming, and XR applications in healthcare, education, or e-commerce.
  • Industrial Metaverse: Web-based Digital Twins, WebBIM, and WebCIM.
  • Practical Methodology: Tools, techniques, or methodologies that participants can directly apply to their own environments.
